Who am I?
Ricardo Cazares-Medina, but you can call me "Ricky"
I am a twenty-eight-year-old Sacramentan (don't bother googling it - it's not a word). Photography brings profound meaning to my life, and I strive to communicate this through images. What started as a hobby became a job, then a passion that shapes my values.
The nature of light, both artificial and natural, captivates me, and I constantly work to deepen my understanding of it.
My relationship with depression has given me new perspectives and inspired advocacy for mental health awareness. The discourse around mental health has opened up a lot, and I think a big part of Art has a correlation with the human condition, and us documenting the ways that we navigate it. It changes through generations and chronology, and that's fascinating to think about through our own perspective, and through the past and future tendencies. I am very fond of the feeling of hiraëth, or nostalgia. It fascinates me and drives my current personal project..
