What is my goal when photographing your wedding?
One of the most spectacular things that I got out of my last few years of photographing has been a fascination with memory.
How do photos affect memory? How do we feel when we revisit memory and things aren't as we thought they were? What about when images perfectly capture our past, and in it we feel truth about who we are in the world?
These kinds of questions, along with my own interest in my childhood and how it's juxtaposed with my adulthood have taught me that memory is a tool of life. It can be used by many image-makers, but very few can use it to tell a story of truth and integrity to the people and events in the photographs. Allow me into your lives on your special day, and I will use every tool I have to make sure images that capture your love, the candidness of your character, and everything in-between. Images have the potential to outlive us - to tell our story when we cannot. More importantly, they are reminders for the rest of our lives of who we are and what we love.
